All-rounded Improving the Performance of Edge Paint｜D&A Water-based Eco-friendly Edge Polymer Fixing Agent

In the general edge paint operation process, after the application of primer and colored edge paint, the performance of the finished edge paint can meet the requirements and standards of most customers.

 

As some of the customers have higher requirements on the physical properties of edge paints, applying edge paint fixing agent with corresponding gloss is needed as the last protective coating, which can significantly improve the dry and wet rub resistance, wear resistance and chemical resistance of edge paints without affecting the original gloss and color.

In response to the new requirements of excellence in the actual operation of the factory, D&A Edge Polymer has improved and launched a new water-based eco-friendly fixing agent series which has enhanced product performance from all aspects. The upgraded fixing agent series is featured with high hardness, good transparency, smooth hand touch, good wear resistance, good resistance to high temperature and high humidity, etc.

 

This fixing agent series can not only improve the dry and wet rub resistance of the edge paint but also take into account other requirements in practical applications given its product characteristics.

 

Top Coat Protection

In general, the final effect of the edge paint is full and round. Sometimes, customers will sand the edge paint when they need to create a flat finish. At this time, applying a top coat is necessary to prevent fading while maintaining the flat edge effect.

 

Improve the Anti-adhesion Property of Edge Paint

The leather goods normally will be covered with wrapping paper before shipping to the major sales markets. Due to the good resistance to high temperature and high humidity of fixing agent, it can help to improve the anti-adhesion of the treated edge paint, therefore, it can help to avoid the case that the edge paint sticks to the wrapping paper during long-distance sea transportation.

 

Modified Top Coat Gloss

The fixing agent could be applied as gloss adjustment on the refinished edges if required. For example, when applying glossy fixing agent UA160HTC on matt D&A EDGE POLYMER, the final finish will become glossy. Vice versa, the matt fixing agent UA160MTC can be applied on the refinished edges with glossy D&A EDGE POLYMER to achieve matt finish.

 

Improve the Hand Touch

If you want to enhance the dryness of the hand touch after applying edge paint, you can put on a layer of fixing agent, which can improve the smoothness of the finished edge paint.

 

Attention

The best curing effect is achieved in 48 hours after application. The curing process could speed up when heated to a certain temperature. For best results, it is recommended to apply the fixing agent within two hours of applying D&A EDGE POLYMER. This will allow a stronger adhesion between the two layers.
